Nothing is better than sitting around a warm, cozy fire with friends and family on a cold winter’s day. Most homeowners love their fireplace, however, one common complaint is that fireplaces, especially wood fireplaces, are a lot of work to operate and maintain. Wood fireplaces require that you collect, chop, season, stack, and haul wood to operate it. When you add the fact that wood fireplaces require quite a bit of cleaning and maintenance to keep them operational, some homeowners just don’t want to deal with it. There are, however, other options out there besides fireplaces that require a lot less time, maintenance, and energy to operate. At Northeastern Fireplace and Design, we have a wide variety of gas stoves available that are clean-burning, easy to operate, and easy to maintain. We only carry brands of stoves that are industry leaders in design, operation, and safety such as Enviro and Hearthstone. Come to our showroom and let us show you how we can keep you warm this winter, without all the hassle.

Gas Fuel

Gas stoves operate on natural gas or propane. There are a lot of benefits to using a gas stove. First of all, gas burns very efficiently, which means most of the fuel is burned, leaving very little smoke or byproducts. This also means that more of the fuel is going towards heating your home, and not up and out of your chimney, like with wood fireplaces. This also means that there is less opportunity for creosote to build up in your chimney, saving you time and cost on chimney maintenance.

One of the primary reasons that homeowners decide to install a gas appliance is because it is a lot easier to operate. Unlike wood appliances that require chopping, stacking, seasoning, and hauling of wood, gas fireplaces usually just require the flip of a switch or a push of a button to operate. Gas is oftentimes much cheaper than wood, especially if you don’t have wood readily available to you. Finally, gas appliances are a lot easier to control. This means that you can control the amount of heat that is coming into your home much easier than you could with other appliances. The most common downside that people associate with gas appliances it that you don’t get quite the same ambiance that you would with real wood fire. However, many homeowners accept this tradeoff because the benefits of owning a gas appliance outweigh this cost.

Gas Stoves

Although we sell a wide variety of wood, pellet, and gas-burning fireplaces, inserts, and gas log sets at Northeastern Fireplace and Design, one of our best sellers is our gas stoves. We don’t just any offer any type of stove in our showroom. We meticulously research all brands and models to determine what we want to offer to our customers. Each stove that we sell has to meet high safety, quality, efficiency, and design standards. If we don’t think a product is safe, or uses high-quality parts, we don’t sell it. We want our customers to be impressed by the products we offer. We make sure that each model we sell is capable of meeting your heating needs, while still maintaining its efficiency. If we don’t think a product has been designed properly, we don’t sell it. There are two brands of stoves that meet our high standards, Enviro and Hearthstone. These two brands have been tried and true for decades and offer the best in heating efficiency and quality. You can rest assured that you’ll feel safe and be satisfied when you buy a heating appliance from Northeastern Fireplace and Design.

Installation and Maintenance Services

When it comes to installing a gas stove, there are a lot of “how-to” videos out there for you to watch. However, there are a lot of technical and regulatory guidelines that need to be met to assure that your stove is installed correctly and safely. If these guidelines aren’t met, your stove may not operate correctly, or even more importantly, it may be a fire hazard. When it comes to installing your stove, it is best left to the professionals at Northeastern Fireplace and Design. Our professionals have installed hundreds of gas appliances and can assure that your stove is installed correctly.

Although gas stoves burn much cleaner and efficiently than their wood-burning counterparts, they still require annual inspections and cleaning. Gas appliances have different maintenance requirements than wood appliances and there are still hazards related to gas and carbon monoxide leaks that need to be inspected. It is important that the chimney technician working on your stove is certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). Only a CSIA certified technician, like the ones at Northeastern Fireplace and Design, has the knowledge and expertise to assure that your inspection was done correctly and safely.
