All About Scotia
Scotia is a village on the bank of the Mohawk River in Schenectady County and part of Glenville. Scotia, incorporated in 1904, served as a military camp in both the French and Indian war of 1754 and the War of 1812.
Throughout history as well as today, life in Scotia was centered on the Mohawk River. The U.S. Water Ski Show Team makes its home in Scotia. The fishing has always been excellent in the Mohawk and there are boat launches as well as spots for picnicking and observing nature along the riverbanks.

Community spirit is one of Scotia’s finest attributes. Community garage sales with over 20 households participating, free community concerts at the Freedom Park Amphitheatre and fundraisers to benefit area children connect residents.
The Empire State Aerosciences Museum is located at the Schenectady Airport and is a unique hands-on museum that features the state’s largest aviation library.
